Here are a few things I'm interested in: epigenetics (genes are never alone!), pollen grains (tiny but self-contained living organisms), polyploidy (more DNA → more complexity → more fun!), and travel (but that’s off topic).
I’m a French PhD student with a long-standing interest in plant biology. I began my studies in Angers, my hometown, then spent eight months at the Umeå Plant Science Center (Sweden) and six months at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Plant Physiology (Germany).
I have now joined ETH Zürich to investigate pollen defects that arise after whole-genome duplication. My work focuses on (1) an understudied gene, PAB3, which likely plays key roles in mRNA stability and translation, and (2) the epigenetic changes occurring in the vegetative nucleus and sperm cells of neopolyploid pollen. In brief: exciting science ahead!
