Annual Arabidopsis search around the LFW building
Every year a group from the Institute of Molecular Plant Biology checks the areas 1-7 around the LFW building (see thumbnail or photo in galary) for Arabidopsis plants. This year, the task fell to the Bomblies Group.
Between March and October 2022, a group of at least two team members search every week for Arabidopsis thaliana (and arenosa) plants around our building. We collect the plants (especially the flowering ones) and we grow them isolated for seeds. Afterwards, we test the seeds for transgenicity using antibiotics or basta.
